With Grapefruit Health, you can put your clinical experience to work in flexible, remote roles that fit your life. Stay engaged, stay purposeful — and do it all on your terms.

Summer of Grapefruit Health

Week 6: Soak up the Skills, Shine on Shift

This Summer Is Still Yours ☀️

You’re not just clocking hours — you’re shaping what your career looks like next.

Whether you're returning to practice, mentoring future nurses, or seeking a more flexible way to deliver care, your presence still matters. Every patient conversation, every act of support, every moment you choose to show up — it adds up.

Remote roles through Grapefruit Health give you space to care meaningfully, on your terms. Support patients, share your experience, and stay grounded in why you became a nurse in the first place.

Let’s build a summer that works for you.

Skill Spotlight: Taking Feedback 💡

Feedback is part of every clinical experience — and learning how to take it without taking it personally is a serious skill. Here’s how to build it:

🧘‍♀️ Pause before reacting
When you get feedback that surprises you, resist the urge to defend. Take a breath. Say, “Thank you — I’ll think about that.”

🗂 Sort it
Not all feedback is equal. Ask: Is this about a skill I’m still learning? Is it based on one moment, or a pattern? Can I use this to improve next time?

🗣 Ask for specifics
If you’re not sure what someone means, it’s okay to ask: “Could you give me an example of what you would have done differently?”

🧭 Reflect and reset
Write it down. Think about how you’ll handle a similar moment going forward. That’s what growth actually looks like.

You’re not expected to be perfect. You’re expected to learn.
Getting better at receiving feedback — calmly, thoughtfully — is a professional skill that will serve you far beyond this summer.

For a Little Laugh 🤸‍♀️

Let’s just say… Nurse Marge has a very literal approach to bedside encouragement.

“Can you help me feel better?”
Marge: “I’ll give it a shot.”

(We’re 99% sure this is why patients ask for ice chips first.)
